In the Month of August 2020 when our South Africa went in level 3 of the lockdown, our South African Bakery School decided to collaborate with a close community church called the “Yahweh Church” to give back to the community of Tembisa.

With this collaboration, we identified an orphanage home located in Vusimuzi, an informal settlement in Tembisa where most of our students come from. Together with the church, we decided to support feeding about 400 children from the orphanage home on a bi-monthly base. Impacting the communities that we operate in is a key component of our brand footprint in Tembisa and part of the Bakery School Foundation project.

Our students bake products on Fridays and take them to the orphanage home during the weekend. This initiative excites our students as they are not only giving back but also, get to play and interact with the kids and motivate them as well!

How wonderful it is to be taken care of, and being able to care for others!
