Therefore the main beneficiaries of this foundation will be:

  • Students of the Masisebenzi Secondary School
  • Students will undergo a screening process were learners with passion and interest in baking will be identified and chosen.
  • Only 25 learners can be enrolled per batch into the 2 year program. Students will learn baking skills and others basic knowledge in sales, management in order to support them to open their own bakery companies or work withina professional company in the bakery sector.

Tembisa, an Nguni name meaning Promise or Hope, is a large township situated to the north of Kempton Park on the East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa.

It was established in 1957 when black South Africans were resettled from Alexandra and other areas in Edenvale, Kempton Park, Midrand and Germiston. According to Statistics SA, there are over 463.000 people living in Tembisa. It is the second largest township in South-Africa.

Many inspirational people were born and bred in this township like Solly Mahlangu and Sibusiso Leope (DJ SBU).

Our aim with the Bakery School Foundation is to support children from a township like Tembisa, to groom them, provide them with baking skills and empower them to be successful in life so to inspire other upcoming generation in the township.

We will help grow successful bakers, future leaders, managers and successful bakery business owner. It is our promise to bring change and give hope to the underprivileged.
